South of the Border Golfing Adventure

Mexico is a large country, situated right in between the United States and South America. This is not really the first place one would think of when considering a golf vacation. This could mean missing out on a great and affordable opportunity. Most of Mexico's golf resorts are located in the lowlands, so the climate is more tropical than you might be used to. Mexico golf vacations might be warm and humid in the summer, but in the winter the temperature will be perfect.

Not only can you find great golf, the rest of your vacation will be diverse and pleasant since Mexico's climate is so adaptable. Not only is the temperature in the mid 70's most of the year, but also there are beautiful coastlines everywhere you go. The golf courses in the area are designed to adapt to the natural environment so each one will present a unique challenge. Mexico is also the perfect place for the bargain hunter. The golf tours will be very inexpensive and very worth your time; so don't be afraid to shop.

The Cabo area of the country is the very center of Mexico's golf community. This is the area consisting of San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, as well as the area in between the two. Cabo San Lucas is renowned all over the world for its nightlife but San Jose Del Cabo is the exact opposite and thrives on its older heritage. It also boasts the nine hold San Jose Golf Course. This is a great place for a day of practice before heading off to the spectacular course at Palmilla Club de Golf. This course will allow you the challenges of the natural environment and accompanying views of the Sea of Cortez.

Puerto Vallarta is another of the country's biggest vacation spots, but often not thought of for its golf courses. The coast is amazing and the city offers all the excitement you could want from a vacation. But it also hosts a variety of very natural and challenging golf courses. The Marina Vallarta Club de Golf is within walking distance of most of the hotels and restaurants in the area. The Vista Vallarta has two 18-hole courses, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf respectively. The Four Seasons Resorts is probable the most unique golf course in the Puerto Vallarta area.

Everyone knows that Cancun is a great place for a vacation. But Mexico golf vacations are no different. You will have no trouble finding things to do on days when you don't feel like hitting the course, but when you do there are three main resorts to choose from. Probably the best two are the Mayan Palace and Tres Vidas Golf Course. Just north of Acapulco Bay, both courses are close to the main action of the city. But the natural beauty of the course is also something that you just can't miss.
